First, we need to inspect the visual quality of the waterstop steel plates. The surface of the waterstop steel plates should be free of oil stains and must not show any obvious bending. The specifications for the waterstop steel plates require a thickness of 10 mm, with a width of at least 300 mm and folded edges measuring 30–50 mm. Additionally, the overlap length between two waterstop steel plates must be no less than 50 mm, and the welds must be full and applied on both sides.
Welding Quality Inspection
When welding the waterstop steel plate to reinforcing bars, it is strictly prohibited to burn through the steel plate or leave any gaps between the plate and the reinforcement. Welding must be secure, with fully filled welds, ensuring no incomplete or missing welds occur.
Location and Burial Depth Inspection
The position and embedment depth of the waterstop steel plate must comply with design requirements. If no specific design requirements are provided, the waterstop steel plate should be placed at the midpoint of the structural section's cross-section, and its embedment depth should equal half of the plate's width. Additionally, the concave surface formed by the bent edges of the waterstop steel plate must face the water-facing side.
Reinforcement Measures Inspection
Reinforcement measures must be appropriate and secure, with full welds ensuring that the weld seams are fully filled—there should be no instances of incomplete welding.
