In stone and building cutting construction, the electric rope saw machine frequently pops up fault code 5: OL1, which is the most common frequency converter motor overload protection fault on site. It often occurs in continuous cutting and sudden load changes, directly causing equipment shutdown and delaying construction progress.

The main cause of the malfunction is abnormal mechanical load, not equipment failure. Excessive tension of the wire saw during cutting, fast feeding of stone, jamming and wear of the saw wire, or lack of oil in the equipment bearings or stuck transmission components can all cause the motor load to exceed the limit and trigger OL1 overload protection. Secondly, improper parameter settings of the frequency converter and poor heat dissipation of the equipment can also trigger false overload alarms.
Quick on-site solution: First, shut down the machine and cut off the power. Manually check the status of the saw rope, adjust the cutting tension and feeding speed reasonably, and clean up any stuck debris; Secondly, inspect the transmission and bearing components, lubricate and maintain them in a timely manner; Finally, verify the rated current parameters of the frequency converter motor and clean the heat dissipation duct. Daily construction requires constant speed operation to avoid overloading and hard cutting, which can significantly reduce the recurrence of the fault.
