Technical Tips | How to Judge Quality Issues of Diamond Wire Saw Bead Uneven Wear (Big Head & Small Head), Read This!

Jun 04,2026

Bead bunching occurred on your diamond wire saw? Start by checking these two points yourself!

During cutting operations, when finding that the beads on the wire saw are larger on one end and smaller on the other (uneven wear), many technicians' first reaction is "poor quality." Don't rush to that conclusion — it is recommended to first check the following three working conditions before making a diagnosis:

Is it underwater cutting?

Is there small-area cutting?

Is the equipment's linear speed too low?

For an accurate quality judgment, you can refer to the industry standard:
If the diameter difference between the two ends of the same bead is ≥0.5mm, it can be determined as "uneven bead wear" (big head & small head).

Most cases of "big head & small head" are actually caused by working conditions. Check first, then judge. Accurate troubleshooting can effectively avoid misjudgment and reduce construction costs and losses.
