Tech Tips | Troubleshooting: Remote Display Works but Travel Motor Has No Response

Jul 03,2026

Troubleshooting process for no response from the travel motor during speed regulation on an electric wire saw

During reinforced concrete cutting with an electric wire saw, it's common to encounter a situation where the handheld remote screen displays normally and button operations respond, yet the travel motor shows no reaction at all. Most operators would immediately assume the motor is faulty and start disassembling it blindly — which not only delays the project but also drives up repair costs.

Just check this one thing:
Whether the speed potentiometer on the handheld remote is damaged.

If that's the case, simply replace the speed potentiometer on the remote control.

For routine maintenance, there's no need to disassemble the motor first. Instead, inspect the external wear-prone components step by step. Most faults can be quickly resolved this way, effectively reducing equipment downtime, lowering maintenance costs, and ensuring smooth construction progress.
