Technical Insights | Electric Roller Inverter Code 16: DC1 Trigger Mechanism and On-Site Handling Procedure

Jul 20,2026

Comprehensive Analysis of Flash Codes for Electric Rope Saw Machine Inverters

When operating an electric rope saw machine at a mine or construction site, if the frequency converter's operation panel displays "16: DC1," immediately stop the rope cutting. This code does not indicate a complex malfunction but rather a clear signal of the frequency converter's overcurrent protection (OCI), meaning the DC bus current has exceeded the safety threshold.
Based on feedback from our after-sales frontline, alarm triggers are primarily categorized into the following three scenarios:
1.The acceleration time is set too short
2. Short circuit or insulation damage on the output side
3. Recommended Handling Sequence for Motor Load Sticking or Overloading
Recommended Handling Direction:
You can primarily check whether the motor cable is damaged and replace it with a new one
If the fault persists after completing the above troubleshooting, use a multimeter to measure the winding resistance of the motor to assess its insulation condition. Record the load current value during the fault for accurate remote assistance. For safety, always disconnect the power before performing any operations.
